About Ecorp

Easy, cooperative banking for village businesses.

Why we started

In many villages the nearest bank branch is a bus ride away, loans need paperwork few small businesses have, and banking apps assume English and a smartphone. Shop owners keep cash in tins, self-help groups keep accounts in notebooks, and farmers borrow from informal lenders at high interest.

Cooperative banks and self-help groups have run community finance in India for decades. We want to use that model and add tools that make it cheaper to run in more villages.

What "Ecorp" means

Ecorp is short for Easy Cooperative: Easy + Cooperative. We are an independent Indian startup with no connection to any other company, real or fictional, with a similar name.

How we work

  • Local agents. Each village has an Ecorp Mitra, often a self-help group member.
  • Clear fees. Every fee is listed up front, in plain language.
  • Basic phones work. SMS, voice and missed-call banking, plus an app.
  • Small amounts. Deposits from ₹50 and small business loans.

Where we are today

Ecorp is an early-stage startup and not a licensed bank. We do not accept deposits, give loans or open accounts yet. We will launch financial services only with the required approvals from the Reserve Bank of India, or in partnership with licensed, regulated banks.
